Caregiver support

Supporting a family member with a neurological condition is one of the most challenging things we will ever do.
Taking on this role has been shown to have a detrimental impact on our physical and mental health. It can lead us to feel isolated as our opportunities to meet up with friends and other family members declines. Our relationship with our relative may be drastically altered, and this may add to our sense of isolation. The financial costs associated with loss of income and additional healthcare expenditure can also be significant, which can add to our sense of stress.
Gray Matter recognises that the needs of our brain-injured patients are very much tied to the well-being of those family members who support them. We believe that if relatives can be supported to manage the demands of caregiving then this will mean that our patients’ quality of life can flourish.

We offer a range of services for relatives supporting an individual with a neurological condition, including:

Specialist clinicians that work around you.
We accept referrals from self-funders as well as solicitors, case managers, and other health and social care professionals. We provide domiciliary visits as well as the option of patients being seen at our office in north Oxford. We also offer the option of remote appointments as well as in-person sessions.
