Not only do such conditions have a negative impact on our emotional well-being, these emotional difficulties can in turn exacerbate any underlying difficulties with memory and concentration, and can also lead to avoidant behaviour that may have a negative impact on our rehabilitation and recovery.

Gray Matter provides access to skilled psychological therapists who are experts in supporting people with neurological conditions to overcome emotional difficulties.

We offer an eclectic range of evidence-based psychological therapies, including:
  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT);
  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT);
  • Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT);
  • Therapies that are person-centred, goal-focused, and collaborative;
  • In-person treatments as well as therapy session delivered remotely using video-based platform such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams;
  • Session summaries and progress reports that can be used as part of a medico-legal treatment process;
  • Attendance at multidisciplinary team meetings to review progress against wider rehabilitation goals.

We accept referrals from self-funders as well as solicitors, case managers, and other health and social care professionals. We provide domiciliary visits as well as the option of patients being seen at our office in north Oxford. We also offer the option of remote appointments as well as in-person sessions.
