About us

Gray Matter provides psychological and neuropsychological assessment and treatment services to patients in Oxfordshire and surrounding counties.

It was founded in 2024 and, whilst it is a young organisation, it is one with a wealth of clinical experience, with all of our clinicians having at least a decade of post-doctoral experience and most having worked in the field of psychology for over 20 years. All of our clinicians were trained in the NHS and most continue to work in the public-sector; indeed, many of our staff are actively involved in training the next generation of Clinical Neuropsychologists for the NHS.

Our clinicians bring a diverse set of skills to their clinical work, and it is this diversity in approach that allows us to provide care that centres around each individual patient’s needs. However, our team is united in sharing the goal of providing high quality and innovative interventions for those under our care. We ensure that the patient and their family remain at the heart of our work. We strive for excellence, and our clinicians not only keep abreast of the latest scientific developments in the field of neuropsychological practice; they actively contribute to this literature.

All our clinicians are chartered members of the British Psychological Society and are registered with the main regulatory body for Clinical Psychologists and Neuropsychologists, the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). We also ensure that all our clinicians have regular DBS (criminal record) checks and that they hold appropriate indemnity insurance. We actively support our staff to engage in continuous learning so that the interventions they provide are evidence-based and are shaped by latest developments in the scientific literature.

Please take a moment to look at our clinicians’ biographies below, which include a copy of their CV as well as their areas of specialism. We accept referrals from self-funders as well as solicitors, case managers, and other health and social care professionals. We provide domiciliary visits as well as the option of patients being seen at our office in north Oxford. We also offer the option of remote appointments as well as in-person sessions. Please contact us if you would like to discuss this further.
